Bloodmobile coming to Palisade High School

PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) – To get students on board with giving blood, St. Mary's Bloodmobile is stopping at Palisade High School today so students can take some time between classes to donate blood.

Counting on teens as the country's future donors, the Bloodmobile has made stops at several local high schools this year, traveling as far east as Edwards, all the way out to Moab, and down to Telluride.

In fact, high schools are competing for two traveling trophies, awarded to the schools with the highest participation.

Palisade currently holds one of those trophies, with 41 percent of juniors and seniors donating last school year.

They'll be at PHS today from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Students ages 16 to 17 need their parents' permission to donate.
