Boulder police say homeless man stabbed

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Police have arrested a transient man after investigators say he stabbed another man in the back with a knife during an altercation on the banks of Boulder Creek near downtown Boulder.

Monroe Newsom is facing assault charges following the stabbing on Wednesday.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports Steven McMillian was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Police arrested Newsom at the hospital where he was also being treated for injuries. Details on Newsom's injuries were not available.
