GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. New Year’s eve is a time for new things but at Powderhorn Mountain Resort they're all about ringing in the new year with their tradition of fireworks and a torch lighting parade. The parade features employees of the resort who ski down the mountain with flares.

Before adults take their run down the mountain kids are able to take their shot. They went down a small hill with glow sticks and escorts to help them along the way.

The event provided a fun way for families to enjoy the end of 2013, and hopes for fresh powder in 2014.
