GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The man convicted in a stabbing death last year will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Julio Sesar Ortiz faced first degree murder charges-- among others-- in the 2012 stabbing of Abel Roper.

Investigators say Julio and his brother Jose stabbed Roper 13 times in the torso and leg after what started as a bar fight.

Roper was found dead in his truck on March 1, 2012.

Ortiz was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
