GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. It'll be the be the Mavs first appearance in the championship game of the College World Series.

Last time they played in the tournament was back in 2009 when they were sent packing after just three games.

They have an amazing season and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Whether they've been at every game or caught a ball game here or there, Mav's fans are gearing up for what could be a historic game in CMU history.

The Mavs have had their fans at the edge of their seats during some close games, but they've come through and delivered a near perfect record at home and an impressive season on the road.

Saturday, they go on to play Southern Indiana for the national title with the entire community cheering them on.

“Coach hanks and his team have knocked on the door for years and i think this is the year and i think this is the year that they're finally going to blow it open and win the big game,” says Rick Adleman of the Colorado Mesa Alumni Association.

For the Mav fans that can’t be in North Carolina, there will be a viewing party hosted by the Colorado Mesa University Alumni Association and the Athletics Department, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 5 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Junction.

All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
