CMU Dream Award given to high school student

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Martin Luther King Junior's famous "I Have A Dream" speech has also sparked Colorado Mesa University to create an award titled after those famous remarks.

CMU's Cultural Diversity Board named its first recipient of the Dream Award at a special luncheon.

River Adams is a senior at Grand Junction High School and was given the award for overcoming challenges and facing opposition with courage.

Organizers are trying to help the youth in our community establish a sense of culture which is why the award went to a high school student.

The goal is to continuing giving out this award for years to come.
