GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The school year is well underway at Colorado Mesa University here in Grand Junction and students are hard at work in the classroom.
But recently released census data shows there are more of them than ever before.
CMU has seen a boost of more than 300 extra students roaming campus since last year and school officials say this growth reflects on our community as a whole.
"I think the community should be exceptionally proud," says Executive Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment at CMU, Rick Taggart. "We try to represent this community in the most positive light and this is a great college community and we're immensely proud of that."
According to the data, the overall enrollment at CMU is up more than 3.5%.
University officials say they plan to keep recruiting and building the school's reputation to ensure continued growth.
