GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says the dredging work at Highline Lake State Park has been completed and the lake will open to boaters on Apr. 14 at 8 a.m.

The dredging operation got rid of silt that was building up over the years. It restored a deep channel out of the lake from the East Bay making it easier to go boating.

In addition, the work uncovered the dam outlet structure allowing divers to perform safe inspections and testing.

Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and Colorado Lottery provided $1,070,000 for the project.

Boaters are reminded to follow all boating laws and regulations, including having safe equipment on board.
