GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A distracted driver causes some significant damage to a motel when she crashes into it.

Grand Junction police say a woman was driving her silver Mustang north on Highway 50 toward Grand Junction. She dropped a lit cigarette and reached over to get it.

When she took her eyes off the road, she crossed two lanes of southbound traffic, ran through a fence, and crashed into the Prospector Motel.

Her car created a hole in what appears to be the motel’s office, KKCO crews on scene report.

The driver walked away from the crash, and no one else was injured.
