Carbondale eyes energy tax to fund projects

CARBONDALE, Colo. (AP) Carbondale town trustees are considering an energy tax or utility fee to encourage residents to use alternative energy sources and conserve power.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, the town plans to spend about $115,000 on energy-related programs next year.

Some opponents of the plan say the town should seek donations before forcing residents to pay for the programs.
