GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - It's the story that's captivated the nation for the past three years, but the woman acquitted of killing her two year old daughter is officially a free woman.

The verdict heard round the country. Casey Anthony found not guilty except for four counts of lying to investigators--- which she is currently appealing.

"In my heart I knew she was guilty but the justice system didn't prove it,” says one local Grand Junction woman and mother Donna Howe.

Shortly after midnight on July 17, 2011 Anthony was released from the Orange County jail in Florida, something mother Jessi Sims of Grand Junction, doesn't agree with.

"She's going to get hurt and even if nothing happens to her, God will take care of it in the end,” says local mom Joann McCeig.

But what's next for Anthony? Officials are keeping mum and have taken her to an undisclosed location.

"She's ostracized everybody in her family. She stabbed everyone in the back; everyone she knew. I don't think she has any friends left,” says McCeig.

Now that she’s out, many say her safety is in jeopardy. Some even say she may even have to undergo plastic surgery to change her identity.

"She's going to have to do something permanent I’m sure to change her physical appearance,” says McCeig.

"She's probably going to have to move or change her hair color,” says Sims.

Many say the Casey Anthony trial is the most high profile case of the year and with that kind of notoriety comes some controversial perks.

"There was a $1 million price tag out on her first interview,” says McCeig.

Casey Anthony will now have to give a video taped deposition in a civil case against her.

The babysitter she accused of kidnapping lttle Caylee in the beginning of the investigation, Zanita “Zanny” Gonzales is suing her for defamation.
