Celebrating their 69th class reunion

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - Getting together with friends and family make the holidays a special time, but one Grand Junction High School class are celebrating a more impressive feat.

They're the class of 1943, getting together at Berna B's Restaurant for their 69th class reunion.

The restaurant normally closes at 2 p.m., but the doors stayed open for the special event. Classmates and their spouses shared stories while drinking coffee and having hors d’oeuvres. Then the group sat down to have a turkey dinner with all the trimmings

"It's so much fun. You know this is about the only time, with rare exceptions, that we see each other. So we just wanted to continue it. It's been a great experience that I hope continues for a long time,” said Paul Coe, member of the GJHS class of 1943.

But some are making it a more regular tradition. The ladies of the group, including spouses, get together on the first Monday of every month to talk about the latest news.
