Children enjoy early Easter egg hunt

PALISADE, Colo. A local food bank gave children the chance to enjoy Easter traditions, while learning about community service.

Students from Noah's Ark Kindergarten School ran through the yard at the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies Thursday morning in search of those coveted candy-filled Easter eggs.

Llamas also joined in the fun at the annual egg hunt to bring extra smiles to the children.

"Kids are a big part of our community and we really want to give back and help them out as much as we can," said Mike Losordo, of the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.

The children also received Dr. Seuss books to take home with their sweets.

While these children are the volunteers of the future, Losordo said the food bank desperately needs volunteers right now.
