GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Christmas Eve the kids are counting down the hours before they can dig into the boxes under the tree.

But it's what you do with that time to kill that makes the holiday memorable.

"I go to my brother's house in Ridgeway," says Barry Lyon. "He's got a nice little ranch out there and we eat nice dinner and trade some gifts spend a couple of days with them, it's a wonderful time."

Whether you travel long distances or stay in and enjoy a nice meal, this holiday season, many will be spending time with family.

"To us, that's what the center of life is, your family and spending time with them," says Francisca Rivas.
