Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) --- In a special meeting this afternoon, the Grand Junction City Council discussed it's options for filling two empty seats on the Council.

After a relatively strained discussion, they agreed to proceed with accepting letters of application for the At Large seat - the one vacated by Rick Brainard whose resignation was announced on Monday.

We will keep you posted as more details of the timeline for filling this position come out.

The Council also decided it would proceed with interviews for the District E seat, vacated after the death of the late Harry Butler, that were already scheduled for Monday, July 29th.

The four candidates up for the position are Teresa Black, Les Miller, Duncan McArthur and Barbara Traylor Smith.
