Colo. Springs man injured in accidental shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a Colorado Springs man was accidentally shot as he was showing his wife how to safely handle a firearm.

The Gazette says Jacob Cherry was cleaning his handguns Friday night and was shot as he was showing his wife how to handle the weapon. Police say Cherry was hospitalized in good condition after the bullet hit him in the left hand and left leg.

No charges have been filed.

How incredibly STUPID ! Sounds like HE needs to take a Gun Safety Course BEFORE he tries to teach ANYONE, ANYTHING, about Firearms. The DUFUSS is extremely lucky it was HIS hand and leg, and not HIS HEAD, or worse yet, HERS !!!! What's the FIRST rule of Firearm Safety > Treat every Firearm as if it were LOADED. Take NOTE OF THAT, Mr. Jacob Cherry.......
