GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) --- The Colorado Professional Pro Rodeo finals will be held in Grand Junction and there will be plenty of entertainment for the entire family.

The three day event starts on September 13th and runs through the 15th at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

The rodeo features hundreds of top cowboys throughout the state competing for cash and that coveted gold belt buckle.

Pre-week activities began today, with a parade down Main Street.

If you missed today's kick off event, then don't worry, the rodeo fun continues tomorrow with a one of a kind pony express race from Loma to the Sheriffs Posse Arena on 25 Road.

Racers will dress in authentic Western Wear, complete with mail pouches.
