GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - If you had a chance to look at the date today, it's 303 day!

The numbers represent the area code for a good portion of Colorado.

Another way Colorado is being celebrated lately is by a recent survey that ranks Colorado as the 2nd best state for residents' overall well-being.

Hawaii was the only other state above Colorado.

The rankings are based on physical health, outlook on life, job satisfaction, and a few other quality of life factors-- something local residents can agree with.

"If you are physically active and physically fit, naturally you're going to be mentally fit, outdoor exercise is not only good for your body but it's also good for the mind, extremely good," said Nick Jordan with The Board and Buckle.

Thanks to all the great outdoor landmarks Colorado has, our state's residents also reported the best physical health overall in 2012.

The lowest ranked states for overall well-being were Mississippi, Kentucky and West Virginia.
