GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Colorado has ranked close to the bottom of the country's list of graduation rates.

The U.S. Department of Education released state-by-state data in graduation rates.

It shows 74 percent of Colorado students graduated from a four year high school in the 2010-2011 school year. That’s a 1.5 percent increase over last year.

However, it places Colorado at 37th among the 50 states, including the District of Colombia and the Bureau of Indian Education.

Iowa had the highest rate with 88 percent, while Nevada came in with the lowest at 62 percent.
