GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) As the front range continues to rebuild and recover after the devastating floods ravaged many communities, one man is out to make sure residents take time to heal.
Comfort dogs are on the road to help give love, hope and joy to those who need it. Founder Daniel Sievert started the service after his own near death experience. Now he brings his Golden Retrievers, Jake and Emerson, around the country to help those working through difficult situations.
"Jake and Emerson can usually sense somebody that's going through a trial or trauma or tragedy," said Sievert.
The dogs wear custom-made uniforms when they go to work. Sievert is from California and donates his time and money to share his dogs with those in need of a furry, friendly face.
