Cook-off to support Latimer House

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Cook you Ace off, was the name of the friendly competition held at the Clifton Ace Hardware on Saturday.

The 2nd Annual barbeque cook is a fun natured way to get the community to come out and support Latimer House, said Sabrina Rudder the Clifton Store Manager.

"They get to purchase a raffle ticket and it's a dollar a ticket and go through and taste all the food and vote on who's the best," said Rudder.

Last year the store raised more than $2,000 to help Latimer house, which provides shelter and help to victims of domestic violence.

The event featured 4 different booths, and all the food was cooked by store associates.

Apple dumplings, pulled pork, barbeque chicken, and barbeque pizza were some of the main highlights.

Ace Hardware associates said it’s a chance for them to give back to the community they serve.
