Cookies and cocktails support West Slope Girl Scouts

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Girl Scouts supporters sampled some tasty cookie treats while raising funds for next year's activities.

Community members and Girl Scout officials all gathered for a fun night of savory treats and a silent auction to benefit the Girl Scouts of the Western Slope.

Local Grand Valley chefs created delicious bites that all include at least one type of Girl Scout cookie for the public to snack on.

"The big thing about this is its a huge portion of our budget, and a great way for the community to come out and support girl scouts in an adult way," says Cindi Graves of the Girl Scouts organization.

Proceeds of Friday night's event are used for programming for girls that include camping, club meetings, and outings throughout the year.

Girl Scouts is an organization that has been around for over 100 years helping build young women of courage, confidence and character that make the world a better place.
