GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Mesa County Coroner has released the name of the man who died in the desert Monday.

Grand Junction resident William John Campbell, 64, was riding in the passenger seat of a GMC pickup truck when it rolled off 27 ¼ Road on June 3. He was ejected from the truck and died on scene.

The coroner has ruled his cause of death as multiple injuries and his manner of death as an accident.

Colorado State Patrol, which is the agency in charge of the investigation, says the driver, 59-year-old Juan Ambriz, was heading southbound on 27 1/4 Road when his truck went off the road, down a slope and flipped.

Both he and another passenger-- 16-year-old Diego Ambriz-- were taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.

Troopers say speed was most likely a factor in the accident. None of the men were wearing seatbelts.
