GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Club 20 honors one Mesa County Commissioner for his outstanding service to the community.
Last Friday at the Club 20 spring meeting, County Commissioner Steve Acquafresca received the John D. Vanderhoof Award.
The award is named for former Governor John Vanderhoof and celebrates the Commissioner's service to the community through public policy.
"There are lots of opportunities for people to have input into our public policy making processes. we are a very open community," says Commissioner Steve Acquafresca.
The Commissioner especially invites the youth to get involved with public policy because it directly shapes the future of the Western Slope.
He has worked in water, transportation, and agricultural policy throughout his career.
