GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A new addition to the Mesa County Board of Commissioners will help the county run a little bit smoother.
Tom Fisher will be taking over duties as the new county administrator.
The Army colonel isn't a new face to the county; he has been there for 11 years and was serving as interim administrator for Mesa County, but now Fisher is officially in the position.
"Tom has a great skill set that is ideally set for this position," said Steve Acquafresca, a Mesa County Commissioner.
“I’m very happy about it; it provides me an opportunity to advance my career, as well as work with the great employees I have worked with for the past 11 years and get to lead them,” said Fisher.
Acquafresca says fulfilling the position of administrator in a county as large and complex as Mesa County is challenging, but he knows Fisher is going to execute the job well and is confident in his choice for his staff and the community.
As county administrator, Fisher will be the number one person in command.
