County, city offices closed for New Year’s

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – With the New Year comes a number of city and county closures on Jan. 1, 2013.

All City of Grand Junction offices will be closed. Mesa County closures include as will the Health Department, Department of Human Services, Clerk and Recorder, Planning, Public Works, all offices at the Old Courthouse, Regional Transportation Planning Office and all Clerk and Recorder branch offices.

The Mesa County Animal Services’ will be closed as well, but its officers will be on-call for emergencies.

The Coroner’s Office, Criminal Justice Services and emergency Sheriff’s Office functions will still be open, but non-emergency parts of the Sheriff’s Office will be closed.

If your trash pickup typically falls on a Tuesday, City trash collection will be pushed back a day, so put out those bins Wednesday.

CRI Recycling won’t be picked up Tuesday or Wednesday, but routes on Thursday and Friday will be back to normal.
