MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- A two-vehicle accident forces Colorado State Patrol to close the intersection of D 1/2 and 31 Roads and causes buildings in the area to lose power.
The crash happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
CSP says a Ford pickup and a Dodge pickup collided in the area, sending the Ford crashing into a nearby power pole.
The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Troopers had to close the intersection for a few hours while the accident was cleaned up.
Xcel Energy says residents near the area should expect to lose power intermittently through the day as crews work to replace the damaged power pole.
They recommend taking caution when driving in that area.
