GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Mesa County Valley School District 51 applications for School of Choice will be available at 10:00 a.m. on Mar. 3. and are due before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 21.

Parents wanting their child to attend a school other than the one in their assigned attendance area must complete and return an application for the 2014-15 school year. Students who are currently attending a school under School of Choice do not need to re-apply this year, unless they are going to a different school next year.

A letter was sent to all current District 51 parents and families explaining this process.

This year, applications will only be accepted online. Parents need to click on the link below the picture to access more information about School of Choice.

Community computer locations have been established for Monday, Mar. 3, for the first day of applications to help accommodate these families who may not have computer access. These sites are:

- Mesa County Public Library Central branch located at 443 North 6th Street
- Basil T. Knight staff development center located at 596 North Westgate Drive
