MESA COUNTY, Colo. Last Tuesday night, the District 51 School Board approved a major change for students entering kindergarten this fall. The transition will directly impact families whose children were born between July 15th and September 15th, who otherwise would have potentially started school this fall.

The district is inviting families to attend a meeting where elementary level leaders will be available to answer questions regarding the recent changes.

If you're interested in attending the meeting, it's Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Emerson Administration building.

District 51 Officials say the purpose is to answer questions, not necessarily collect feedback. If you cannot attend the meeting and would like information about the change, call the elementary office at 254-5311.
