DA: Greeley officers justified in fatal shooting

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) The Weld County District Attorney's Office has determined three police officers were justified when they shot and killed a man during a prostitution sting at a Greeley hotel.

District Attorney Ken Buck says the officers "were in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury" when 31-year-old Raymond Garcia pulled a gun on them during the May 21 sting. No officers were injured.

Police say they were working undercover prostitution cases when Garcia showed up as a customer of an undercover female officer.

The Greeley Tribune reports Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene, and a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun was found next to his body.
