DENVER, Colo. (AP) Denver International Airport is preparing for airline cutbacks, even though its financial situation is improving.

According to the Denver Post, chief financial officer Patrick Heck told Denver City Council members Wednesday he is preparing for the uncertain future of Frontier Airlines at the airport.

Republic Airways Holdings Inc. said last month it has entered into a nonbinding preliminary agreement with a third party that could buy its Frontier Airlines subsidiary.
