Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – A daring ice rescue took place on the Colorado River Monday night, near the Loma boat ramp.
A call came in to 911 just after 7 pm reporting that a car had driven out on to the Colorado River. When rescue teams arrived the car was about 25 yards from the boat ramp and water was seeping into the vehicle.
After pulling the woman to safety she was taken to a local hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
It is unknown why she was on the river or if alcohol or drugs were involved.
