DENVER (AP) A bus driver for the Denver-area transit system has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence while on duty.
KCNC-TV in Denver reports (http://tinyurl.com/nkvl632 ) 49-year-old Darren Pettee was arrested Monday after a passenger on Pettee's bus called transit officials and said Pettee ran a stop sign and was driving recklessly.
Pettee was in a Denver jail Tuesday. Online jail records didn't indicate whether he had an attorney, and no listed phone number could be found for him.
Pettee has been driving for the Regional Transportation District for seven weeks. He works for First Transit, an RTD contractor.
RTD spokesman Scott Reed says Pettee cleared a check-in before starting his shift Monday, but it wasn't immediately clear what that involved.
Pettee is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
