GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) In District C, the school board race between Pat Kanda, John Williams, and Lonnie White was not nearly as close as District E was.
The recently appointed Williams gained an early lead and and held on to it throughout the night, though unofficial at the time of this posting.
Though the money won't be coming in from the defeated Amendment 66, Williams is optimistic about the school district's financial situation going forward.
"The hard part's been done by this current school board," Williams said.
"They've cut $30 million in three years. I think we'll have a little more money in the coming years- not very much. But once again, the hard stuff's already done. Would have been great to have a bunch of extra money. Not to be."
