Downed power line sparks fire in Grand Junction home

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. In less than an hour early Sunday evening severe weather pounded Grand Junction and left destruction in its path.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to one house on the 600 block of Grand Avenue got the brunt of the high winds and rain after a tree crashed into a power line that fell down on the home igniting a fire.

Grand Junction Police Dispatch confirms officials with the Red Cross were on scene and expects the home owners to be displaced after the incident.
