For the week starting Sept. 24, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Interstate Highway Construction, Inc. (IHC) are continuing the I-70B Widening Project to improve Highway 6 & 50 between 24 ¾ Road past the 25 Road intersection. The project involves concrete reconstruction, a new storm sewer system; an updated signal system; utility relocation, curb, gutter, sidewalk and landscaping.
This project is paid for in part by Colorado FASTER. The work is currently scheduled through October with paving, curb and gutter driveways, including street lighting.
The Ute Water is replacing an 18-inch waterline and 26 Road will be closed from H Road to H ¾ Road until approximately early October. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Wednesday, Sept. 26, the intersection at 26 ½ and H Road will be closed. 26 Road will reopen during those two days to provide an alternate route. The detours will be marked.
Ouray Avenue will be closed between the 19th and 22nd Streets for a waterline replacement project. Construction will also take place on a short section of 20th Street to Chipeta Avenue. Asphalt paving operations will take place on Ouray Avenue and 20th Street on Monday, Sept. 24, and Tuesday Sept. 25. MA concrete will be working on a waterline installation on Grand Avenue between 2nd and 5th Streets. The outside westbound lane will be closed during construction and traffic lanes will be shifted to the south. This project is estimated to be completed in early October.
The Central Grand Valley Sanitation District (CGVSD) is replacing the existing sewer line in Karen Lee Subdivision on F ¼ Road, 29 ¼ Road, Karen Lee Drive and Karen Court. This project will continue through the third week of November.
Mesa County has closed the bridge north of Fruita on 17 ½ Road and M.3 Road. The intersection is closed and traffic will be rerouted while the bridge is being rebuilt. Closure will take place through December 15.
