GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) On Thursday evening, just before 8 p.m., Grand Junction Police began getting 911 calls about a possible explosion.
Callers said the first blast came from the area near Sherwood Park.
Then at about 8:30, a second explosion occurred at the Salvation Army, near the intersection of 4th street and Glenwood Ave.
"We came outside and walked up, we saw the smoke coming from the Salvation Army," says witness, Leah Andres. "People were walking down here so I came down and I saw that the pipe was off, the drainage pipe, had to be exploded."
The explosions caused minor damage to the downspouts, pulling them away from the building. No one was injured.
Investigators are working to determine what kind of explosives were used.
A search of the area did not find any other devices.
