Fatal crash on I-70 near Silt

SILT, Colo. Colorado State Patrol and the Garfield County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal crash.

It happened on Monday just before 6:30 p.m. on I-70 mile marker 98 near Silt.

A semi truck driven by 48-year-old Randall Felix from Johnstown, Colorado was traveling westbound in the right lane.

Two female pedestrians in their 30's were also in the right lane when the semi collided with them.

One of the women died on scene and the other was transported to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
