GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) UPDATE: The Mesa County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the motorcyclist involved in Saturday's accident.

The crash victim was Colton Morgan, 20, of Grand Junction.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office said the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.

Around 8:15 a.m. Saturday, the Grand Junction Police and Fire Units were called to the intersection of 28 Road and Elm Avenue. Upon investigation it was determined that a red motorcycle was traveling Eastbound on Elm Avenue approaching 28 Road and failed to stop for the stop sign. The man ran into the passenger side of a Southbound pickup truck.

The rider of the motorcycle pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the male was young and had Wyoming license plates.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Officials say there are no indications drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, but the speed of the motorcycle is being examined as a significant factor.

The name of the driver has not yet been released.
