MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) Steven Smythe, 28-year-old male from Grand Junction, was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday night.
The motorcycle left the right side of the roadway on a curve and struck heavy brush while descending an embankment. The man was ejected and landed near the motorcycle. The driver was wearing a helmet.
There were no other vehicles involved or witnesses of the crash. The owner of the property discovered the motorcycle and driver while on a walk with his children.
The Colorado State Patrol was assisted by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado Department of Transportation and K&M Towing.
The Colorado State Patrol would like to remind riders and drivers to remain aware of their surroundings, especially when days are becoming shorter and colder weather is approaching.
