EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. – A man died early Monday morning when the vehicle rolled off Interstate 70 near Wolcott.
Cory Hermann, a 35-year-old man from Westminster, was driving westbound on I-70 near milepost 155. Around 3:30 a.m., Mr. Hermann lost control of his 2000 Volvo sedan on the icy roads and drove off the left side of the road. The vehicle then rolled and came a stop in the westbound lanes of I-70.
Mr. Hermann did not appear to be wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. A 14-year-old male passenger was uninjured in the crash.
The westbound lanes of I-70 were closed for an hour and a half for the investigation.
Four agencies along with the Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene.
