GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) Transportation officials are warning people to stay off closed sections of the popular Glenwood Canyon bike path because flooding caused by spring flooding has damaged some of its bridges.
Tracy Trulove, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, tells The Glenwood Springs Post Independent that crews inspecting the trail between the Grizzly Creek Rest Area and Hanging Lake last week discovered some of the bridges had become detached from the retaining wall below Interstate 70.
CDOT crews have seen people riding their bikes past the closure signs along some sections where the waters have receded.
