Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Many Grand Valley residents got an early jump on celebrating the 4th of July on the 3rd. The celebration called Freedom Fest took place in Fruita, at Civic Center Park.
The annual festival provides those in attendance with free food, snow cones, music, and entertainment. Freedom Fest is hosted by the Fruita Christian Church and other area businesses.
Freedom Fest is a fun way for families to celebrate the 4th of July during this high risk and fire danger season.
Local Fruita bands Lainey’s May and Hope Kings played at the event. Members of the VFW Honor Guard gave a descriptive understanding of how the flag is folded and meaning behind each fold.
