FRUITA, Colo. In their last meeting of the year the Fruita City Council voted in favor of adding a new amendment to the city's master plan.

Before the amendment was accepted the floor was open for public discussion. The amendment includes improvement concepts for the Civic Center Memorial Park. This includes possibly moving the stage to the east side of the park. The plan also calls for improvements to the downtown streetscape.

"Over the course of several years move forward with implementing that plan doesn't mean everything in that plan is set in stone. As we go through the planning process, as we get into the nuts and bolts and details of the plan things could change,” says Ture Nycum, with Fruita City Parks and Recreation.

Before any project gets approval to go forward Fruita residents will be able to give their input.
