FRUITA, Colo. The first question on the Fruita ballot asks if residents want retail stores in Fruita. The second depends on the approval of the first, but asks whether or not to impose an excise tax on the retail sales of marijuana.

If approved the next step would be looking at zoning regulations to put the shops in places away from schools and parks.

If you haven't gotten your ballot you can head to the Civic Center in Fruita to fill one out and that's where ballots can be dropped off as well. Voters can also use the drop box in the parking lot.

Polls close at 7:00 PM Tuesday and results are expected within a couple of hours afterwards.
