GJPD commander's funeral set for Monday
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The family of Grand Junction Police Cmdr. Greg Assenmacher has announced plans for his funeral.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Church. His burial will follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
For anyone who would like to donate money in his honor, the Haley and Madison Assenmacher Fund has been set up at any Wells Fargo Bank and the Western Slope Center for Children. Haley and Madison are his daughters.
Local law enforcement is mourning the loss of Assenmacher, who died Wednesday of apparent natural causes. Badges are shrouded in his memory.
