GJPD releases picture of assault, robbery suspect

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction Police are hoping the public can help identify the man wanted in connection to an assault and robbery at a local business.

Police released this security camera image of the man after they say he went into Smoker Friendly, 2692 Highway 50, around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29. They say he hit an employee, then showed the victim a knife and demanded money. The employee was not seriously injured.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He's described as a white male in his 30s, about 6' tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored coat, with a hoodie pulled over his head.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 241-STOP or submit a tip electronically via 241STOP.com. Information leading to an arrest can earn you a reward up to $1,000 and you will remain completely anonymous.
