GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- It's Worth What? NBC's latest game show sensation puts contestants knowledge of the "finer things" to the test. And when it premieres next week, you just might see two iconic cars that live right here in the Grand Valley.
For as long as she can remember, Grand Junction resident Tammy Allen has been a big fan of Sonny and Cher.
"I always enjoyed watching them when they had the variety show and everything," said Allen. "I've been to see Cher in concert a couple of times."
So when she learned that their famous 1966 custom pink and gold mustang convertibles were being sold at a major car auction, she made sure she was there.
"I was really interested in those," said Allen. "So I'm glad I got them."
They now sit in her car museum at the Allen Unique Autos headquarters in Grand Junction. But recently, they got to go on a special road trip.
"They asked if I had the cars and if I would like to bring them out there for the show," said Allen.
Out there being Los Angeles, and the show being NBC's latest creation "It's Worth What?" -- a new game show that puts contestants face-to-face with rare and historical treasures, then asks them questions about their values.
"They brought in two race horses against my two mustangs and they asked the contestant what's worth more," said Allen.
Allen says the woman playing the game at the time thought the race horses were worth more. But she wouldn't divulge much else.
When asked if the woman was right, Allen said, "You'll have to wait and see."
And she definitely wasn't going to tell us how much the two cars were worth, except that they're worth "quite a bit." A simple Google search puts the cars well into the six figure range.
"It's Worth What" premieres Tuesday July 19 at 7:00pm right here on KKCO NBC 11. Allen says the shows producers have not told her which episode the cars will be featured on.
