GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Christmas is just around the corner and many kids in the valley are still in need of your help to make their Christmas a more joyful one.
Currently the Salvation Army Giving Tree at the Mesa Mall is still full of angel tags. Each angel gift tag on the tree represents a child in need of a gift. The tag gives a full description of the child's sizes and what they'd like most to open on Christmas morning. Officials with the Salvation Army say any gift helps this year when they have less gifts than normal.
"Every gift we are grateful for and it doesn't matter how big or small. It doesn't matter if you take a tag off the tree or you just find something while shopping that meets your fancy, that you think a child will like and you want to put it in the box. We're very grateful for that," says Claudia Jackson, with the Salvation Army.
"We all get caught up in the hustle and bustle and trying to make sure everybody has a gift and there's some kids that don't have somebody to think of that for them. I just think it's important if you're feeling blessed in your life to give to somebody else," says Mary Ellen Anderson, who is going to donate to the Giving Tree.
You can pick up a tag and drop off a gift up until Christmas Eve. The presents these kids are hoping for vary in price from a bike to warm coats to toys.
