Golfers tee up for kids

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Golfers teed up on the green for children in the community.

The 10th Annual Jolly Construction Golf Tournament benefiting the Riverside Educational Center was held at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa.

The event supports a non-profit organization helping kids in the community.

“Our organization is really important part of our community, we service disadvantaged kids in the after school hours and we've been doing it since 2006," said Joy Hudak Co-Executive Director of the Riverside Educational Center.

Children from educational center came out to show their support working as golf caddies.

The golfers had an opportunity to win prizes and were able to hire a CMU golf team member to take ringer shots for them to help them get a better score for the hole.

Officials say this is one of their biggest fundraisers and could not do it without their sponsors and community support.
